Heading home. This was a wonderful trip! I love New Orleans so much! Sad to go but happy to be back home!
3rd day in New Orleans!
We spent the day riding the street car through the Garden District and shopping on Magazine Street. I picked out lots of fun dresses to bring home with me. Fashion is so colorful here. I love all the fancy cocktail dresses a found at the Buffalo Run Consignment shop! Then we met a friend for dinner!
Happy 18th Birthday to me!
I just turned 18!! This is crazy! Time has gone by so fast! I feel so special from all the birthday wishes! I love celebrating in New Orleans! 18 doesn't feel an different than 17 but I am still excited for all the new things to come! This city is so full of magic! It feels even more vibrant today, almost like it is just for me.
We started to morning off with the Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour. We saw so many alligators up close! It felt so nice to be out on the water. I am glad I got a chance to experience the bayou in this way. We spent the rest of the day in the French Quarter.
Travel to New Orleans, Louisiana
Traveling to New Orleans for my 18th birthday trip!! Stopped in Dallas, Texas then to Louisiana. Got dinner on Bourbon Street then saw the band Loose Cattle!
Last Day of the Big Blues Bender
It was hard to pick which sets to see! Everyone is amazing and it was the last day! I even got to be in a Mardi Gras parade! Goodbyes are always sad but I know I will see everyone again soon!!
Day 3 of the Big Blues Bender
This day was the highlight of my trip!! I got to jam with Pat Harrington, JP Soars and Doug Woolverton! Late night jams are where the amazing collaborations happen! I was lucky enough to be a part of one! Also got to run elbows with Leon Blue and Mike Zito!
Howl at the Moon Jam - Doug Woolverton, JP Soars, Pat Harrington, Grace Kuch, Ephraim Lowell, Jim Nordgren, and Billy Truitt
Day 2 of the Big Blues Bender
The Big Blues Bender is a magical festival with music all hours of the day! I had to sleep in a bit from my late night but I still got lots of music in! Sadly, the pool stage was closed for part of the day because of rain but it was up and running as soon as the rain stopped. I got to hang out with one of my guitar mentors Pat Harrington! These are some of my favorite sets of the whole weekend!
